History & Tradition

St. Bartholomew Catholic School Scarborough, Ontario, was opened in 1969. It was named after Bartholomew the Apostle.

On June 5, 1994 St. Bartholomew Catholic School celebrated its 25th anniversary.

There has always been a close association between St. Bartholomew Catholic School and St. Bartholomew Church as the pastors have been eager to work with the school. The close proximity of both buildings helps this relationship flourish.

Each year the school band enters the TCDSB Music Education Festival. When they have the opportunity, one of the intermediate classes attends a three to five day program at a TCDSB outdoor education facility or a city like Ottawa where children experience curriculum first-hand.

In addition to the regular day, the teachers offer many extra-curricular activities to meet students' interests and needs. Sport teams, cross-country, track and field, choir, W5H, student council, and soccer house leagues are some examples. These activities take place before or after school hours or at lunchtime.
